If you would like to have all the benefits of a Vodacom Contract, but would also like the budgetary control of Prepaid cellular, then Vodacom's Top Up Packages are for you. Vodacom Family Top Up is a hybrid of Pre-paid cellular and Contract, giving you the best of both worlds. Once the monthly airtime allocation has been used, the phone is soft-locked until the next month, when airtime is loaded again. You can, however, still receive calls. If you need to make calls, you can top-up your airtime with Pre-paid Vouchers.

Unused airtime carries over to the next month. In this way, you maintain tight control over your cellphone expenditure and you experience absolute peace of mind, knowing that you will never have a larger amount deducted from your bank account.

  1. Using your voicemail service is free - anyone can leave you a message ensuring that you never miss a call and you can listen to your voicemail when it is convenient for you. Just dial 121 from your Vodacom cellphone to access your voicemail messages - calls are charged at your package call rates.
  2. To access your messages from another phone, dial 082 14 followed by the last nine digits of your cellphone number (without the leading zero). Dial 1 and you will be prompted to enter your password followed by #.
  3. To set up your voicemail settings, such as personalised greetings, dial 121 from your cellphone and follow the prompts to activate different options.

  1. Call Sponsor offers peace of mind and enables Top Up customers to make calls to pre-specified sponsored cellphone numbers, even when they have no more airtime. A Contract customer can sponsor your calls by dialling 082 12000, free from a Vodacom cellphone to activate this service.
  1. Airtime Transfer allows you to send a portion of your airtime to another Vodacom Top Up customer. You can transfer your airtime by Dialling *111# free from your Vodacom cellphone, select 'Airtime Transfer' and follow the instructions on your cellphone screen; or Calling 082 12000 free from your Vodacom cellphone and follow the voice prompts. (Please note that you can only transfer up to 80% of recharged airtime and not Top Up subscription or Starter Pack airtime. You can transfer any amount over R29.00.)
  1. Need to make a call but have zero airtime balance? Relax, because with Reverse Charge, you can make reverse charged calls to Vodacom Contract customers without spending a cent! Simply dial 082 180 plus the full cellphone number (e.g. 082 180 082 1234 567) of the person you need to reach. No activation is required and you can make up to 5 Reverse Charge calls per day. As a Contract customer, you are able to block specific numbers, or the entire service by dialling *111#, free from your Vodacom cellphone, and selecting the Reverse Charge option. Only Vodacom Contract customers can accept a Reverse Charge call, which will be billed at the relevant out-of-bundle Vodacom to Vodacom peak or off-peak Contract Package tariffs.
  1. Whether you have run out of airtime or need someone to call you, just send a free Please Call Me. You can send up to 7 free Please Call Me messages per day, across all networks in South Africa. You can personalise your Please Call Me message by adding your name. To send a Please Call Me message, dial *140*cellphone number# e.g. *140*0821234567#. The recipient will receive an SMS message from your cellphone number to "Please Call" your number. All you have to do is wait for the recipient to call you back.

  1. This is a comprehensive, 24-hour emergency assistance service that offers local and international medical advice, as well as telephonic legal and tax advice. Calls are charged at general service call rates.
  1. Transform your cellphone into a mobile panic button when you save the Look4help panic number as a speed dial. A distress SMS with your location will be sent to four cellphone numbers of your choice at R0.50 per SMS. The recipients of the distress message can then contact you, physically come to your aid or contact an emergency service. This service is available to Vodacom Contract, Top Up customers. To register SMS the word "HELP" to 31888.
